The Kirkland Gallery Intermissions Series serves as a platform for cross-institutional exchange, interrupting the gallery's regular programming to lend space to individuals and organizations outside of the GSD. This year, with the support of the Office for the Arts at Harvard and the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, we have invited Biquini Wax EPS to produce a workshop and laboratory for the collective design and construction of monsters. Organized to coincide with Halloween, this event will focus on the subject of monsters to address the sociocultural conditions within Mexico and the U.S.A. that have led to the emergence of political tyrants in recent history.

Biquini Wax EPS is an interdependent contemporary art space in Mexico City run by artists Paloma Contreras Lomas, Israel Urmeer, Cristóbal Gracia, Daniel Aguilar Ruvalcaba, and Eric Valencia; writers Gustavo Cruz and Sandra Sánchez; art historian Natalia de la Rosa; and curators Roselin Rodriguez Espinosa and Julio García Murillo.

Co-hosted by Kirkland Gallery, GSD Arts Committee, Latin GSD, and the Signet Society
