echo chamber (media) /’ ekō ˌCHāmbər/ noun :
1. An enclosed space where sound reverberates.
2. An environment in which a person encounters only beliefs or opinions that coincide with their own, so that their existing views are reinforced and alternative ideas are not considered.
(Oxford English Dictionary)

Originally referring to solemn spaces of reverberation designed by Medieval clergy, architects, and composers to construe and reinforce a specific reflection of the world, the ECHO CHAMBER exhibition attempts to re-architecturalize the concept for a modern audience. By integrating camera obscura and auditory feedback, Kirkland Gallery will be transformed into an upside-down world in which visitors may find it difficult to think or speak coherently.
