This exhibition is a single image of a Boston T Red Line train. The photo was taken from the same perspective at each stop of the Red Line and was then merged to look as if it was the interior of the whole train—blurring the lines of both space and time as well as playing on the idea of public and personal space. In particular, the exhibit aims at exploring the interior of public transit vehicles and at re-conceptualizing it as a public space. As the backbone of the Boston T network, the Red Line serves a diverse array of transit riders within the metro area and thus offers a unique snapshot of the city’s inhabitants.
